Using the Site Scan Feature
The Site Scan feature is an essential tool for admins, enabling them to scan their entire Confluence Cloud instance for any sensitive data. This documentation outlines the step-by-step instructions for using this feature effectively.
-
Set up Check Groups To utilize the Site Scan feature, start by setting up at least one Check Group with a specified number of sensitive data checks. These check groups help determine what kind of sensitive information to look for during the scan.
-
Accessing the Site Scan Tab Navigate to the Site Scan tab within the app's UI. From here, you can initiate the scanning process.
-
Choosing Projects to Scan In the Site Scan wizard, admins have the flexibility to select individual spaces or choose "All spaces" for a comprehensive scan. This allows you to determine the scope of the investigation.
-
Selecting Check Groups After specifying the spaces to be scanned, the next step is to choose the desired Check Group(s) that will define what sensitive data to look for during the scan. Carefully selecting appropriate check groups ensures accurate and relevant results.
-
Starting the Scan Once all selections are made, click on the "Start the Scan" button. The scanning process will begin immediately within the browser, allowing admins to initiate the search for sensitive data in their Jira instance.
By following these steps and effectively utilizing the Site Scan feature, you can efficiently identify potential risks related to sensitive data within your Atlassian Confluence environment. It is essential for maintaining robust security measures and ensuring the protection of valuable information.
